Building and Validating a Predictive Model of Mortality Using Secondary Progressions

This study aims to investigate a potential predictive link between secondary astrological progressions and the month of death by identifying a combination of weighted astrological factors likely to indicate death. A study sample of 650 deceased individuals was analysed, with secondary progressions calculated on the date of death and for 500 monthly intervals preceding death as well. The resulting 650 death-month observations was compared to a control group comprising 325,000 non-death months. The study sample was used to develop a regression-based predictive model using 72 event-specific astrological keywords rather than conventional astrological factors. For each month, the model calculates scores derived from secondary progressions, which maximize the mean score difference between the 650 death months and the 325,000 non-death control months. To validate this model, an independent test sample of death months from 203 subjects was analysed. The model tested on this validation sample of 203 subjects demonstrates strong significance (p < 1.51E-08) with a moderate effect size (r = 0.3759).
