Chiron–Saturn Aspects in Relation to Sexual Orientation and Suicide

Christopher Benton, PhD

Research (Ramchand et al., 2021; Chum et al., 2023) indicates that gay men and gay women have higher rates of suicide than heterosexual populations, and these referenced studies used large-scale datasets and are considered quite robust1. This study investigates whether particular Chiron–Saturn aspects are disproportionately represented among individuals identified as gay and among individuals who died by suicide when compared with those who do not exhibit Chiron-Saturn aspects. A result is that Chiron square or quintile Saturn occurs more frequently in both groups than in their respective comparison samples, whereas Chiron trine, opposition, or quincunx Saturn occurs less frequently. When analysed separately across different time periods or when separated by gender, these results replicate within the study.
