Physical Violence and Mars Aspects to the Fastest Moving Planets

Serge Daigno

In astrological literature, Mars is commonly associated with physical violence among other behavioural expressions. This study examines whether this association is observed more frequently (directional onetailed test) than expected in two independent samples. The aim is to determine whether certain astrological aspects involving Mars are statistically overrepresented in two groups selected on the basis of violent behaviour. Eight conjunctions and oppositions between Mars and the four fastest moving planets (Moon, Sun, Mercury and Venus) were examined.
In the Gauquelin French Murderers sample (n=620), three Mars aspects obtain statistical significance at p < 0.05. The eight aspects combined reveal a predominance of Mars (p = 1.94E-04, h = 0.144).
A replication using an independent sample from Wikidata data (Serial Killers, n=751) confirms the predominance of Mars, with four significant aspects (p < 0.05) and a stronger combined effect (p = 4.30E-08, h = 0.191).
These results support the presence of a non-random recurrence of Mars aspects in profiles linked to physical violence. The study thus opens a methodological avenue for testing planetary predominance in other targeted samples.
