Abstract
This updated and edited excerpt from a recent PhD thesis illustrates the value of using the observations of astrologers as a means of developing a hypothesis that can be addressed within the concepts and constructs of a modern science. The testing of the hypothesis itself, which would not fit within the space requirements of this journal, is not addressed here. The thesis, A History and Test of Planetary Weather Forecasting, was successfully defended in May of 2010 in the Department of Geosciences at University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
