Correlation was established in 1981, as the Astrological Association’s international biannual Journal of Research into Astrology. It publishes the finest peer-reviewed astrological research. Studies address empirical evidence and methodology of the correlation between the positions and movements of celestial bodies and their relation to consciousness, life and physical processes on Earth.
“In 2026 the Astrological Association says farewell to Robert Currey, who has served as the Editor for the Correlation Journal, his final issue marking his tenth publication in this role. We wish to extend our enormous gratitude to Robert, as he set a high benchmark in his tenure as editor, ensuring the rigour of astrological research by employing meticulous review processes. As a result of his approach, the published studies, including evidence lists and meta-analyses, are testament to the journal’s credibility and reliability.
We now pass the mantle over to Dr. Tom Stedall and Caro Martin to carry on and build on Robert’s work as joint Editors. Tom studied physics at Cambridge University before completing his PhD at Bristol University in computational biochemistry. He also has a background in philosophy and religion. With an interest in consciousness research, in this position, he intends to apply this to astrological research through various approaches and methodologies. He is a research assistant to Rupert Sheldrake and a Research Fellow of the Schumacher Institute.
Caro has a background in historical sociology and is a teacher and practitioner of astrology. Following her previous career in international development, she is now interested in how astrology works, and her research interests are primarily in studying historical mundane astrology. With a combined interest in history, Tom and Caro aim to take the publication of Correlation into new areas with varying methods, whilst maintaining rigour in astrological research. The Association looks forward to the ongoing specialised work of the only peer-reviewed journal into astrology.”

- Substantiated analyses of possible theoretical bases of astrology
- Historical, sociological and philosophical analyses of knowledge production and the relevance of this to contemporary research
In all cases, it is essential that the study involves the transparent application of a method to a research question. Within this framework, studies that are supportive or critical of astrology are equally welcome.
